Overview

Almighty Poseidon Empire is a Greek-mythology video slot Microgaming released on 30 April 2025. The catalogue lists four 'Almighty … Empire' titles: Almighty Athena Empire (11 September 2024), Almighty Dionysus Empire (8 January 2025), Almighty Zeus Empire with no release date recorded, and this one. Of the three with dates, Poseidon came last.

Its spec sheet has no gaps. RTP, volatility, max win, bet range, format and release date are all filled in. In a catalogue where only 22 of 142 titles publish a max win at all, a fully documented entry like this makes a handy yardstick for the rest.

Layout and rules

The format is 5 reels and 20 lines. Across the whole catalogue that is the most common label, shared by 21 titles, yet within the Empire series it is the only line-based entry. Athena Empire is listed as 5 reels · 243 Ways, Dionysus Empire as 6 reels · 117,649 Ways and Zeus Empire as 6-reel Cluster Pays. One series name covers three different ways of settling a win.

There is no feature list in the catalogue. The bottom of the cover shows a button-style 'BUY FEATURE' label, but the spec sheet records no conditions or cost for it, so this review doesn't describe how it works. The in-game help screen is the authority on line layout and feature rules.

Bets run from 0.20 to 40. Athena Empire and Dionysus Empire both list 0.10 to 50, so the minimum here has doubled and the maximum has dropped by 10. The published figures show the range narrowing from both ends within the same series.

The Empire titles side by side

In release order the RTPs read 96.24% for Athena, 96.22% for Dionysus and 96.19% for Poseidon. Each instalment slipped by 0.02 to 0.03 points, but all three stay above the studio median of 96.12%. All three are graded High; Zeus Empire alone is listed as Very high and publishes no RTP.

The widest gap is the ceiling. Athena and Dionysus each cap at 5,000x; Poseidon caps at 2,000x. Among all 22 Microgaming titles that publish a max win, 2,000x is the lowest, with 3rd Base next at 2,114x.

Ancient Treasure: Poseidon, built around the same god, is worth a look too. Released on 26 November 2025, it lists 6 reels · 117,649 Ways, an RTP of 96.10%, High volatility, an 18,000x max win and bets of 0.10 to 20. Same protagonist, but format, cap and bet range were all designed differently.

Reading the numbers

The published RTP of 96.19% is 0.07 points above the 90-title median. Two other titles publish the same value, and 34 publish a higher one. Within the studio's full range of 91.89% to 97.49% it falls in the upper part, though the gaps to its nearest neighbours are measured in hundredths of a point.

Reading the 2,000x cap alongside the High grade calls for some care. The lowest ceiling in the series is no basis for concluding that the game is really less volatile than its label. A cap is a rule-set limit on a single result, while the volatility grade summarises the whole distribution of results; neither figure explains the other.

RTP is a mathematically fixed return rate for a game played over a very long run. It says nothing about how any single sitting will turn out.

Presentation

On the cover Poseidon faces forward in a gold crown, one fist raised and the other hand gripping a trident whose tips glow green. His white-and-blue beard and hair fill most of the upper frame, with gold discs floating at either side. Blue water and columns behind him suggest a temple interior.

The title sets 'Almighty' and 'Empire' small and 'Poseidon' large in red and gold, putting the god ahead of the series name. The 'BUY FEATURE' label at the bottom is information the spec sheet doesn't carry, so here the cover tells you one thing more than the catalogue does. A demo is available to check on screen what that label actually refers to.

Strengths

  • RTP, volatility, max win and bet range are all published
  • As the only line-based Empire title, the format contrast is clear
  • The demo lets you check the cover's BUY FEATURE label directly

Weak points

  • Its 2,000x cap is the lowest of the 22 Microgaming titles that publish one
  • A 0.20 minimum bet is double that of the other two dated Empire titles
  • Feature rules are not recorded on the spec sheet

Verdict

Because every field is filled in, Almighty Poseidon Empire's place in its series is easy to see. A switch to lines, a narrower bet range and the lowest published cap are the three documented facts that set it apart from the Athena and Dionysus titles.
