Overview

Break Da Bank is Microgaming's vault-themed slot. The published RTP is 95.75%, volatility is High, and the bet range is 1 to 250. The hub's release-date field is empty, so when the game came out cannot be confirmed from this catalogue's published information.

The catalogue carries four more titles under the name: Break da Bank Again (release date unpublished), Break Da Bank Again Respin (9 April 2019), Break Da Bank Again Megaways (7 October 2021) and Break da Bank Retro Roller (27 November 2024). This review reads the line from the original's side.

Layout and rules

The format field says only 'Video slot', so the reel, row and line layout is unpublished. The hub's feature field is empty, and the paytable and feature conditions are not in the published specification either.

The published value that stands out is the minimum bet of 1. The three Thunderstruck titles with a published bet range, both versions of 9 Masks of Fire, Avalon and Mermaids Millions all start between 0.09 and 0.3; this one starts at 1. The line's follow-ups all went lower: 0.09 (Again and Respin), 0.2 (Megaways) and 0.10 (Retro Roller). Bet limits are closer to a supply condition than to a game's maths, so this review does not read the game's character from that gap.

Reading the numbers across the line

Lay out the published RTPs along the line and you get the original at 95.75%, Again at 95.43%, Respin at 96.08%, Megaways at 96.05% and Retro Roller at 92.00%. They do not climb or fall in one direction; each title is set on its own. Retro Roller's 92.00% in particular shows how far RTP can move under the same name.

Volatility is published even more unevenly. The original and Retro Roller are listed as High, but the volatility field is empty for Again, Respin and Megaways. A shared series name is no licence to copy the original's 'High' onto its follow-ups, and this site leaves those fields unpublished.

Max win is blank in the hub for all five titles in the line. A 'break the bank' theme suggests a big cap, but that story is not backed by any published figure.

Presentation

The cover has the title spilling across a half-open vault door, with nobody going in. The vault motif has not changed across the line since; the biggest shift is Break Da Bank Again Megaways moving it to a bank's front facade.

The demo is embedded on this page. With the format and paytable unpublished, it is worth checking the reel layout and pay type on the rules screen first.

Strengths

  • RTP, volatility and bet range are published, making it the line's baseline
  • Its published RTP can be set against four follow-ups
  • The bet ceiling (250) is wide

Weak points

  • The release date is unpublished
  • Its 95.75% RTP is below the Thunderstruck series and Avalon, and the minimum bet is a high 1
  • Max win and the reel, row and line layout are unpublished

Verdict

Break Da Bank is the line's original, but the line did not inherit its figures. RTP was set title by title, three entries leave volatility unpublished, and the clearest lesson of the series is that the same name does not mean the same spec.
