[Slot review] Luck of the Devil: POWER COMBO — Microgaming

Overview

Luck of the Devil: POWER COMBO is a five-reel, 40-line slot Microgaming released on 28 January 2026, tagged Dark and Classic. The catalogue holds 11 entries with Power Combo in the name, two same-name variant pairs included, and by release date this one is the latest. The entry just before it is Bears Make Bank! Power Combo from 13 August 2025.

Published fields are the 96.20% RTP, High volatility, bets of 0.20 to 20.00, the format and the release date. Only the max win is blank. Rather than filling it with a value from elsewhere in the series, this review uses the published figures alone to locate the game within it.

Layout and rules

The format field reads '5 reels · 40 Lines', so the reel and line counts are clear. What Power Combo actually does in the game, however, is not described anywhere in the catalogue. Of the series' 11 entries, the only one whose format field contains a feature word is the 3 Laughing Lions Power Combo™ variant, listed as 'Power Combo Free Spins' — another game's wording, so it isn't carried over as a rule for this one.

A published bet range is unusual within the series. Only two of the 11 entries list one — this game and the SPIES - Operation Fortune: Power Combo variant — and both read 0.20 to 20.00. Widen the view to the 51 MG slots that publish bets and 12 of them cap out at 20.00 or less, which puts this ceiling on the low side.

Where it sits among Power Combo titles

Published RTPs across the 11 entries run from 92.47% (the SPIES - Operation Fortune: Power Combo variant) to 96.86% (Gods & Pyramids Power Combo). At 96.20% this game is sixth of eleven — the exact middle value — and level with Gates of Asgard Power Combo. Against Microgaming's overall median of 96.12% it sits 0.08 points higher.

Volatility grades split eight High, two Medium (3 Blazing Volcanoes Power Combo and Gates of Asgard Power Combo) and one Medium-high (Bears Make Bank! Power Combo). Even among the five 40-line Power Combo titles the grades scatter: this game and 3 Angels Power Combo at High, two at Medium, one at Medium-high. The same layout carries different grades.

None of the 11 entries publishes a max win, so the series offers no route to estimating a cap either. And the 96.20% RTP is an average that assumes endless repetition — it isn't a baseline for what a single sitting will show.

Presentation

The cover shows a red-skinned devil touching the brim of his top hat with a white-gloved hand. Moustache, black suit with gold buttons, red smoke swirling behind — the palette is held to red and black. The logo sets marquee-bulb gold lettering beneath a green POWER COMBO tag.

A demo is available. Questions the catalogue leaves open — what Power Combo actually combines, and where the max win is set — can be checked on the demo's information screen.
